Operation: Grosvenor
The Grosvenor underground steelmaking coal mine produced its first longwall coal in May 2016. The site is located in Moranbah, approximately 190 kilometres south-west of Mackay.
Following a localised ignition at Grosvenor Mine on 29 June 2024, the operation is now in a project phase.
In August 2025, Grosvenor Mine received approval from Queensland’s safety regulator for the first stage of re-entry - a significant milestone in our restart journey.
This approval marks the beginning of a staged and carefully managed re-entry process. Every stage will progress in close collaboration with Resources Safety and Health Queensland and Industry Safety and Health Representatives, with the safety of our people our highest priority - always.
We thank our teams for their ongoing commitment and dedication in reaching this point. Our focus remains on working together for a safe and successful restart at Grosvenor Mine.
