Standing together

Phins have been up across Central Queensland during 2024, as Anglo American’s partnership with the Dolphins kicked off. 
We’re a proud Central Queensland business and, with the Dolphins, we’ve been kicking goals in local communities across the Bowen Basin.

From a kickabout with local kids at Middlemount Oval to meeting Anglo American employees in Rockhampton, the Phins have been out in force in our Central Queensland communities.

Phins first-teamers headed to our mine sites during 2024, swapping the footy boots for steel-capped boots. They met hundreds of our people at our Capcoal Open Cut, Moranbah North and Aquila operations as they got a taste of life on site.

Students from across Central Queensland have put their Phins up – as the Dolphins came to their schools. Visits to all three Moranbah schools brought rock, paper, scissors competitions, lots of laughs and memories that will last a lifetime.

Anglo American is proud to be the Foundation Sponsor of the Dolphins NRLW team, and we’re committed to growing the game among Central Queensland’s women. The Phins’ Girls Academies hosted tens of thousands of girls in 2024, and our partnership with the Redcliffe Dolphins U19 team was successful on and off the field.

A fun year

Bringing the game to CQ

We love our Central Queensland community. We’ve been busy bringing rugby league to thousands of children across CQ this year.

2,500 students

More than 2,500 local students put their Phins up as the Dolphins came to their schools.

500 female players

Five female academies across Queensland brought 500 girls onto the pitch as we grow the women's game.

2,000 gala day kids

More than 2,000 kids played at Dolphins gala days and competitions across CQ.
