Thinking Innovatively

Thinking innovatively across our business

Across every aspect of our business, we are thinking about how we work to ensure the safety of our people, enhance our sustainability performance, and deliver industry-leading margins and returns.

Our unique Operating Model is designed to support the transformation of asset performance. The focus on stable and predictable delivery provides a foundation for continuous and sustainable operating improvement.

Our values

Our work spans every kind of challenge. But whatever we’re doing we always go about it in the same way. These six values form the blueprint for our way of working:

Our Code of Conduct

Our Code of Conduct aims to be a single point of reference for everyone associated with the Anglo American Group – as well as the departure point for a fuller understanding of our ethical policies and procedures.

It sets out ‘how’ we must all behave in reinforcing our values, and ‘what’ we should be doing to protect Anglo American’s good name, and to make a positive difference.

*The Code of Conduct identifies the standards of conduct that Anglo American expects of its directors, employees, contractors, consultants, suppliers, agents and other business partners in order to promote behaviour consistent with our core values. The existence of the Code of Conduct in itself should not be taken as providing any representation or any other assurance that Anglo American complies with any standard or policy specified, although the Code of Conduct is intended to help support compliance. The Code of Conduct does not create any benefit or rights in favour of, and is not enforceable by, any third party.

Our Approach to Modern Slavery

Anglo American is committed to Human Rights, Responsible Sourcing and working towards ‘Zero Harm’ to people, society and our environment in everything we do.

We expect all suppliers who work with us, and throughout our supply chain, to uphold the same strong values and ‘Zero Harm’ principles.

In Australia, we collaborate with like-minded organisations across the minerals and resources industry to identify ways where we can educate suppliers on the risk of Modern Slavery in their supply chains.  We strive to identify modern slavery in our supply chain and work together to support victims of modern slavery and play a part to eliminate Modern Slavery globally.

Helping us deliver our strategy and live our purpose

Anglo American is a leading global mining company and our products are the essential ingredients in almost every aspect of modern life.

YourVoice is Anglo American’s and De Beers Group’s confidential reporting service. It supports us to be the very best company that we can be. It’s an important tool in helping us to deliver our strategy and live our Purpose each and every day.
