Anglo American Community Officer Kiri Blanch said the Capcoal and Foxleigh sites were very pleased to continue to support Middlemount community groups, sporting clubs and events through an approved fund of $85,500.

“We are very proud to be supporting such worthy recipients including Middlemount Youth Support, which provides vital services to young people in our community, and the Junior Motocross Club for fuel to keep their equipment running,” Ms Blanch said.

“We are also delighted to help support the Middlemount Community Sports Association, which will use the donation to purchase much needed equipment for their gymnastics team.”

A number of local events also benefited from the investment program including the Middlemount Race Day, the Anglo American Heart of the Coalfields Camp Draft and the Anglo American Heart of the Coalfields Rodeo.

“It is very important to help ensure these key community events can continue,” Ms Blanch said.

“Capcoal and Foxleigh look forward to seeing these events grow stronger and prosper through the approved funding.”

The sites received strong interest in the program from the community, with a total of 14 applications submitted for consideration.

The full list of successful recipients include Middlemount Youth Support, Middlemount Race Club -  2015 Middlemount Race Day, Middlemount Golf Club -  2015 Middlemount Pro Am Golf Tournament, Middlemount Rodeo Association -  Anglo American Heart of the Coalfields Camp draft, Middlemount Rodeo Association -  Anglo American Heart of the Coalfields Rodeo, Middlemount Community Sports Association – Gymnastics, Middlemount Junior Motocross Club, Middlemount Panthers Junior Rugby League Club, Middlemount Bowls Club - 2015 Middlemount Bowls Classic and the Middlemount Branch of the Emerald Dance Academy to purchase dance equipment
