The new compact street sweeper was funded by Anglo American and will be used to clean kerb and guttering, footpaths, parks and playgrounds in Middlemount, helping to keep the town debit free and looking sharp.

Anglo American’s Capfox Human Resource Manager Amanda Baker said the machines will showcase the public spaces in Middlemount by keeping these important places clean and would also help the local environment.

“As well as collecting rubbish, the street sweepers can also remove hazardous water product which can block stork water facilities or end up in the waterways potentially harming wildlife,” Amanda said.

“We were very happy to support keeping Middlemount clean and green through the funding of this effective piece of equipment.”

Isaac Regional Councillor Jane Pickles said these particular machines were chosen for their sweeping capacity, efficiency and power.

"The Rosmech Scarab Minors were specifically designed to be versatile and powerful sweepers,” Cr Pickles said.

“Engine and storage capacity, brush configuration, and value for money were key criteria when we made this purchase.

“These machines will be essential to improving the appearance of our town, protecting the environment and keeping our public spaces beautiful.

“Thank you again Anglo American for your generous donation,” Cr Pickles said.
