More than 600 budding rugby league and netball enthusiasts from high schools scattered across the Bowen Basin will converge on the Clermont Sports Ground on Friday 19 July to do battle at the annual Anglo American Brisbane Broncos Central Highlands Challenge.
Anglo American Branding and Events Coordinator Jackie Noble said representatives from the Brisbane Broncos including principal player David Stagg would spend the next two days touring the Central Highlands region to meet with local school students.
"Anglo American is excited to once again join with the Brisbane Broncos and provide regional Queenslanders with the opportunity to meet with and learn from members of the much loved Brisbane Broncos," Jackie said.
"As part of our tour through the Bowen Basin we will be once again visiting the township of Middlemount where local high school students will be treated to a skills clinic conducted by celebrated Brisbane Broncos forward and former State of Origin player David Stagg."
Brisbane Broncos Senior Game Development Officer Simona Vavega said the Brisbane Broncos were delighted to return to Central Queensland with Anglo American and meet with the region's many rugby league fans.
"Central Queensland has a proud history of producing some of rugby league's most gifted players, aswell as many other international sports stars. We look forward to seeing the emerging skills of the region's next generation of sports stars on display in Clermont tomorrow," Simona said.
