Mark is a member of the Board, Sustainability Committee and Group Management Committee (GMC), is a non-executive director of Anglo American Platinum, chairman of Anglo American South Africa (AASA) and chairman of De Beers.
Mark was previously CEO of AngloGold Ashanti Limited, a position he held since 2007. Before joining AngloGold Ashanti, Mark was COO at Vale Inco where he was responsible for Vale’s global nickel business. Prior to this he held senior executive positions with the Normandy Group, Sons of Gwalia, Western Mining Corporation, Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines and CRA (Rio Tinto).
Mark graduated from Wollongong University, New South Wales, with a BSc in Engineering and holds two honorary doctorates awarded by Wollongong and the Laurentian University in Canada.

Stephen became a member of the Group Management Committee in January 2017 and was appointed to the Board as Finance Director in April 2017. He is also a non-executive director of Kumba Iron Ore.
Stephen has more than 16 years of public company director experience and 30 years’ experience in the mining, oil and gas, and utilities industries. Before joining Anglo American, Stephen served as CFO and an executive director of Fortescue Metals Group from 2010 to 2016. Prior to that, he held the positions of managing director and CEO of Southern Cross Electrical Engineering Ltd and was CFO of Alinta Ltd. Until January 2017 he served as a non-executive director of Cedar Woods Properties Ltd.
Stephen has a Bachelor of Business from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and a Graduate Diploma in Company Secretarial Practice. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a Member of the Governance Institute of Australia and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Tony is a member of the Group Management Committee (GMC) and a member of the Sustainability and Investment Committees. He joined Anglo American in September 2013 as Group director for technical and sustainability, being appointed to the Board as technical director in July 2015, with responsibility for the Technical and Sustainability function. He is also a non-executive director of Anglo American Platinum and De Beers.
Tony joined AngloGold Ashanti in July 2008 as executive vice president – Business and Technical Development and served as joint acting CEO until July 2013.
His 35-year career in the mining industry has spanned iron ore, copper, nickel and gold and includes his roles as operations executive at Newcrest Mining and as the head of the gold business at Western Mining Corporation.
Tony is a mining engineer with an MBA from the University of Melbourne.

Joining Anglo American in January 2008 as Group Head of Corporate Communication and appointed Group Director of Corporate Relations in June 2015, Anik’s remit includes Corporate Communication and Government and Social Affairs. Anik's more than 20-year career in the full range of communication and public affairs disciplines has brought her from Quebec, Canada, where she was ultimately Director of Public Affairs for Rio Tinto Alcan after 10 years with the Alcan group.
Anik began her career as the political attaché to the Minister of Finance for Quebec having qualified as a lawyer at the University of Ottawa and with a degree in Health Sciences.

Bruce is a member of the Group Management Committee (GMC).
Bruce has served as Group Director – Strategy and Business Development at Anglo American, as well as Executive Head of Strategy and Corporate Affairs for De Beers, joining the latter company in 2005.
He holds a BSc in applied maths and an LLB from the University of Cape Town, as well as an LLM from Cambridge. Before joining De Beers, he was a partner at Webber Wentzel, Africa's largest law firm, specialising in commercial matters, where he won several awards.

Chris is a member of the Group Management Committee (GMC).
Chris joined Platinum where he progressed from shift supervisor to become one of the youngest general managers in the company at that time. He was previously chief executive of Kumba Iron Ore between 2008 and 2012 and prior to this, Chris was Platinum’s head of operations for joint ventures.
He has been with Anglo American for more than two decades.
Chris holds a B Eng (Mining) Hons from the University of Pretoria.

Didier is a member of the Group Management Committee (GMC).
Didier has held a number of senior global HR roles across his more than 25-year career, most recently as the chief human resources officer for Baker Hughes, the US-based oilfield services company.
Prior to joining Baker Hughes in 2007, he worked at Coats plc in the UK, and Schlumberger for 11 years, based in the USA, Argentina, Venezuela and France.
Didier has a master’s degree in Business from the Clermont Management School and a post-graduate degree in Management Science from the University of Lyon.

Duncan is a member of the General Management Committee (GMC).
Between 2009 and 2013, Duncan held the position of Group Director – Other Mining and Industrial. He was appointed joint interim CEO of Anglo American Platinum in 2007, before taking over as CEO of Anglo American’s copper operations in 2008.
Duncan holds a BSc (Eng) Mech and a GDE (Eng Management) from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa.

Norman is a member of the Group Management Committee (GMC) and previously held the position of CEO for Kumba Iron Ore until September 2016.
He joined Anglo American in 2001 at Konkola Copper Mines. He was subsequently appointed CFO for Anglo Coal. He became finance director of Anglo American Platinum in 2006 and later stepped in as joint acting CEO. Norman was CEO of Scaw Metals from 2008 and later CEO of Thermal Coal from 2009 until 2012.
Norman is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Peter is a member of the Group Management Committee (GMC) and is a non-executive director of De Beers.
Peter joined Anglo American in 1990 within the Corporate Finance division. He worked on the merger of Minorco with Anglo American, the listing of Anglo American in 1999 and the subsequent unwinding of the cross-holding with De Beers. Peter was appointed Group head of finance in 2003 and CFO Base Metals in August 2008. From 2013 to 2015, he served at Anglo American as Group director – strategy, business development and marketing.
A Chartered Accountant with a BCom and a MBA from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa, Peter has also attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School in the US.

René is a member of the Group Management Committee (GMC) and of the Investment Committee. He is a non-executive director of Anglo American Platinum and De Beers.
He joined BOC France in January 1988 and then held a variety of financial appointments in BOC in the US and the UK. Prior to joining BOC, René worked in Paris for Schlumberger and Arthur Andersen Consulting.
René joined the board of Petrofac Limited in 2012 as a non-executive director. He is a former finance director of The BOC Group plc and was a non-executive director of SSE plc (formerly Scottish and Southern Energy plc) until June 2012.
He holds a doctorate in economics and degrees in finance and economics from the Université de Paris-Dauphine, France, and completed the Financial Management Programme at the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University.

Richard is a member of the Group Management Committee.
Prior to his role as Group General Counsel at Anglo American, Richard served in a number of roles at Shearman & Sterling, the international law firm, which he joined in 1996. In 1999, he transferred from Canada to the Singapore office as head of its South East Asian and Indian capital markets practice.
He moved to London in 2003 as a senior corporate partner, with clients across the metals, mining, energy and financial services sectors, amongst others. He served as co-head of the firm’s global mining and metals practice and has previously served as head of EMEA capital markets and co-head of the EMEA corporate practice.
Richard has a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) degree from Mount Allison University in Canada and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Toronto.

Seamus is a member of the Group Management Committee (GMC) and a non-executive director of Kumba Iron Ore.
Seamus joined Anglo American in 2007 and held the position of CEO for Anglo American Metallurgical Coal between 2009 and 2013, and CEO of Coal until 2015.
He joined WMC Resources in Australia in 1994, in strategic planning and business development, before being appointed executive general manager of the Copper-Uranium division.
Seamus joined BHP Billiton as global vice-president Business Excellence following its takeover of WMC in 2005.
He has a Chemical Engineering degree.
